HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Every year around this time, I like to take a moment and reflect on the past year and make plans and priorities for the year ahead. I’d like to share my thoughts here with you!

2021 was a great year for many reasons. At Tandem, we were able to help more people than ever before! It is such an honor to work with each and every one of you and we could not be happier to help you achieve your goals of staying healthy and active.

Instead of making New Year Resolutions this year, I have decided to focus on a couple of words and set these as my overall intention for the year. This year, my 2 words are HEALTH and HAPPINESS.

I know a lot of people have been focusing on health recently and it is more important than ever to ensure you are doing everything possible to maintain or improve your health.

I tell my patients often that you are unable to pour from a glass that is empty. If we want to continue to be able to help each other, our family and our community, we need to take care of ourselves first. For me, prioritizing my health means regular exercise, spending time outdoors, and choosing healthy food options. It also means making my regularly scheduled appointments with my primary care doctor, dentist and physical therapist.

My second word is happiness. Life can be very stressful and we can easily get stuck in the day-to-day grind and the never-ending to-do lists. One of my goals for 2022 is to prioritize having fun and being more present in the moment. For me, this looks like playing games with friends and family, going to the park or zoo with my son or taking a mini vacation to the beach.

What are you prioritizing in 2022?

If it is health, what does that look like for you? Who do you need as part of your team to improve your health this year? What about happiness? What are you planning on prioritizing this year that brings you joy and happiness? Is it spending time with friends and family? Is it taking time for yourself?

Whatever your goals or priorities for the year are, we are in your corner! We hope everyone has a very HEALTHY and HAPPY New Year!
