“New Year, And New Possibilities For Healing”

A patient asked me today if I have any New Year’s resolutions. I had to pause for a moment before answering, “I don’t know that I’m making any this year.”

I’m approaching this year a little differently. Instead of thinking about what I want to add to my life, I’m thinking about what I might release from it. Habits, beliefs, things—or even people—that once served a purpose, but may no longer support where I’m headed now.

I imagine it will feel a bit like a good closet purge: appreciating what something added to my life at one point, while also recognizing that continued growth often requires making room for what’s next. I wanted to share that perspective in case you, like me, are in need of a little “resolution refresh” this year.

As we move into 2026, we’re excited to be offering something new in the clinic—an additional treatment option for nerve-related issues. If you receive this newsletter, there’s a good chance you’ve experienced nerve symptoms yourself, or know someone who has. Nerve dysfunction is very common in this community and can show up in many different ways: bladder leakage with laughing or sneezing, numbness in the feet related to diabetes, or lingering pain or altered sensation even after surgery.

While these conditions may look different, they’re often managed in similar ways. In traditional medical settings, options for neuropathy have historically been limited, and medications like Gabapentin are commonly prescribed to help manage symptoms. As more people become aware of potential side effects and long-term risks, many are understandably searching for supportive, non-pharmaceutical options.

Peripheral nerves—the nerves branching from the spinal cord—are surprisingly delicate. They depend on healthy blood flow, proper metabolic support, and clear signaling to function well. When those systems are disrupted, neuropathy can develop.

That’s where STIMPOD comes in. This technology delivers gentle electromagnetic pulses to affected nerves, helping improve communication and signaling—similar to rebooting a system that isn’t functioning optimally. For many people, this can mean reduced pain, improved sensation, and better overall results when combined with movement-based care.

We’re excited to offer an approach that supports nerve health without relying solely on medications, and that aligns with our belief that you don’t have to simply “live with it.” Sometimes, moving forward starts with releasing the idea that nothing else can help.
