Everyone I talk to lately has a million things going on. Back to school with the kids, gearing up for fall sports, and getting everyone back on schedule and into the routine of things.
And before we were busy with all that, we were off on summer vacations…and before that, graduations….and before that…well, you get the idea!
It’s ALWAYS SOMETHING!
Let’s face the reality – life gets crazy – but that doesn’t mean we cant still make time to take care of ourselves!
Here are 3 tips to stay on track with your health – even when you feel like there’s no time!
#1 – Make A Plan. It’s so important to make a plan that is both effective and realistic. There’s no use in coming up with these elaborate goals and details that won’t fit into your busy life. SO, it’s best to start small with something that is achievable. Make it a non-negotiable part of your schedule!
Once you start racking up little wins here and there, you’ll be feeling a whole lot better about what you’re capable of and where you’re headed!
#2 – Know Yourself. Are you known to start something, keep up with it for a few weeks and then slowly but surely fall off? How many of your new year’s resolutions do you actually end up completing in its entirety? If you are a very disciplined person – my hat goes off to you. If not – know you are not alone, but among the majority.
We love the idea of having an accountability buddy. This could be having someone who you know is expecting you to join them in a stretch or Pilates class. Regular wellness sessions with your PT to ensure everything is staying on track. A monthly massage to guarantee you have an hour of time to yourself! 😉
Your health and wellness are always important, but ESPECIALLY when you are busy!
#3 – Get It On Your Calendar. Make the appointment. Book the class. Schedule the massage. Block off the time. Do whatever it is you need to do to make sure YOU TIME happens!
Even if that means getting something on the books a little further down the road in advance than you would normally think of…future you will be so grateful!
