How To Put an End To Shoulder Pain and stiffness - Without pain-killers and without risking surgery!
At Tandem Physical Therapy, we help a lot of people suffering with shoulder pain. Just behind low back pain, shoulder pain is the second most common diagnosis that we treat.
This pain could be because of a range of different problems, ranging from arthritis to rotator cuff wear and tear, to frozen shoulder or just postural related shoulder pain.
“Why is This Happening to Me?” or “Why Am I Still Suffering With shoulder Pain After Putting Up With It For 6 Months (Maybe More)?"
Most people think that when they get Shoulder Pain, it’s just going to go away on it’s own.
That they’ll wake up one morning and like “magic”, it’ll be as if shoulder pain never happened… But then 6 months later you’re still living with shoulder pain – often even worse than it was when it came on.
Does This Sound Like You?
Shoulder pain is one of those really frustrating conditions because we use our arms for virtually everything. This means that someone with shoulder pain is constantly reminded of their problems and of their pain when they go to do even simple tasks that are often taken for granted such as lifting heavy items, picking up a bag of groceries, trying to open an overhead cabinet, fastening bras, or tucking in shirts. These everyday tasks that seem second nature become a challenging feat.

is your shoulder pain stopping you from sleeping?
What’s also interesting is that it tends to get worse at night, so people are constantly tossing and turning, and they’re rolling over onto their painful shoulder, which is waking them up at night, causing them to lose sleep and it can be incredibly frustrating.
This is probably the biggest driver that sends someone to seek out our help because they’re just not getting a good, full night’s sleep, which can start to cause problems in other areas of life..
So when should someone with shoulder pain reach out to us at Tandem Physical Therapy? Most people can’t tolerate shoulder pain for very long, just because of how often we use our arms. It also tends to deteriorate rapidly if it’s not being taken care of properly.
Most of our patients come to us because they’re not interested in shots. They absolutely do not want to have a shoulder surgery and they’re willing to do just about anything to find a natural solution to their shoulder problem so that they can regain full function and use of their shoulder.
At Tandem Physical Therapy, we truly understand the pain that you are feeling, and we know how important it is to get the right guidance from the right person, and what’s possible when all of that comes together.
Patient Success Story
An example of someone who has had success with us after coming in for shoulder pain treatment was a lady who had injured her shoulder. She was out on the beach playing with her two young boys, enjoying quality time on a family vacation, and she was throwing a football. This was until she actually heard something pop, followed by immediate pain in her shoulder.
She came to see us shortly after she got back from vacation, and she could barely lift her arm, or put it behind her back or head.
She was also unable to do yoga and other activities that she really enjoyed. It also began to impact her professional life, which, as she was a physician, involved spending a lot of time at the computer, reading reports, and looking at studies. Every day, just being in that position put so much stress and strain through her shoulder.
She wasn’t keen on doing pills or shots, and she really wanted to get to the root of the problem and solve it in a more natural way.
After several weeks of working together, we were ultimately able to get her to the point where she could lift her arm. She’s now back to doing restorative yoga. She can put weight through her arm and is completely unlimited and free of pain. She was able to do all of this without needing any kind of surgical intervention.
We see her once every six months for a tune up and to make sure that the shoulder is still strong and moving well. She’s comfortable with her home exercises, she’s moving forward and continuing to see great progress.
